Best All Natural Dry Skin Care For Infants & Kids - Pharmacist and Doctor Recommended.

Remember how soft baby's skin was when she was born? So delicate and beautiful! While in the womb, her skin was protected from our dry, harsh world.

Are you looking for the Best All Natural dry skin care for your newborn or young child? Do you need a safe alterntive to treat mild to severe skin conditions in children? Conditions like cradle cap, dry cracked skin, itching, eczema, redness, inflammation, bumps, and psoriasis can be very stressful on both the baby and parents.

Well meaning friends, family and doctors may recommend brand names like vaseline, aquaphor, cetaphil, cerave, eucerin, aveeno, steroids and other prescriptions. But often time, if not always, they do not work as well as we would like. I've been there, I know the disappointment both as a pharmacist and as a mom. In addition, we do not know what chemicals are in those products and if it's safe to rub all over our precious child.

As a pharmacist and a mom, my recommendation is that you be as gentle as possible with your child's skin so as not to cause more harm. Use mild soaps, if any, and don't scrub too hard. In some cases, fewer baths may be necessary. And use natural products as often as you can. For some children, an allergy spot test may be necessary for some natural products.

For children under 18 years of age, I always recommend Fragrance Free products. Because a child's skin is thinner and more delicate, it is more prone to absorbing the harmful chemicals that some companies add to their skin care products.

I also recommend a thicker verson of creams or lotions for dry skin therapy for young children. Kids need a thicker coating of moisturizers that can withstand them rolling around is less likely to rub off. Also, when caregivers clean kids with baby wipes, thicker lotions are less likely to completely come off during the course of the day.

Prevention is better than cure. Don't wait for your child to develop dry skin before you combat it. Reapply baby's cream as often as needed throughout the day, especially after wiping and baths.

Let me introduce some great non toxic natural products by Dr. Chidi's Rx - Shea Butter Skin Care:

I highly recommend Dr. Chidi's Rx Intense Therapy Cream (Fragrance Free) for young children. It is very smooth and spreads well and is made of natural plant based ingredients only. It is rich with Shea Butter, coconut oil, olive oil and water (the most hydrating substance on earth). It is fragrance free, dye free, paraben free and formaldehyde free. I use it on my 8 year old son and I enjoy the glow that it gives to his skin. I love the satisfaction of a job well done as baby shines from head to toe for up to 48 hours. It is almost as thick as a body butter, it will definitely restore and protect dry skin but it is more hydrating. I also love that it is petroleum free, no harmful vaseline or aquaphor needed. The Intense Therapy Cream is a must have for dry or desert climates and during the cold winter months. It is a great healing moisturizer for dry, cracked or flaky skin.

During the summer months or in more humid climates (or for personal preference) I would recommend Dr. Chidi's Rx Daily Moisturizing Cream (Fragrance Free) . It is very silky smooth and spreads well and is made from natural plant based ingredients. Most children will experience adequate moisturizing with this product from the get go. It is not as thick as the Intense Therapy Cream, but it is also a relatively thick cream that is great for hydrating and protecting dry skin. It can be used year round by the whole family. For children, I only recommend Fragrance Free products but it is also available in a scented version - Daily Moisturizing Cream (Lavender Essential Oil), for ages 2 years and above.

For craddle cap, I may recommend extra virgin coconut oil but Dr. Chidi's Rx Body Butter (Fragrance free) is prefered. It does a great job because it contains rich shea butter and coconut oil too. It melts at body temperature and a little goes a long way. I also recommend that you tackle cradle cap before it starts. To prevent cradle cap, use a gentle scalp brush to wash baby's hair and massage scalp in circlar motions and apply the butter afterwards to seal in moisture and prevent dryness.

I highly recommend Dr. Chidi's Rx safe, non toxic, natural, plant-based products because the brand name creams (mentioned above) and prescriptions just weren't doing the job for my family and many families like mine who suffer from dry skin conditions.

Give Dr. Chidi's Rx - Shea Butter Skin Care a try today and see what the hype is all about. Enjoy great healthy glowing skin year round for infants, children and the whole family!
